Dr.Driscoll is Assistant Dean for Research and Director of Research Development for Life and Health Sciences atthe University of Virginia. He has expertise in developing andsupporting transdisciplinary scientific teams seeking to understandand mitigate the effects of social and environmental determinants of populationhealth. In his own research, Dr. Driscoll combines anthropological andepidemiological techniques in mixed method study designs to develop andevaluate culturally tailored health promotion interventions, particularly inrural and remote communities. His research has been funded by AHRQ, CDC, DOD, EPA,NIH, NSF, RWJF, and SAMHSA. He has published widely, including in the Journalof Rural Health, Health Promotion Practice, the InternationalJournal of Circumpolar Health, and the Journal of Health Communication.
