Biography
Aditya Sharma, MBBS, is a vascular medicine specialist at UVA, where he directs the vascular medicine program, vascular medicine fellowship program, pulmonary embolism response team program and fibromuscular dysplasia clinic. He is particularly interested in the care of patients with venous thromboembolism, peripheral artery disease, uncommon vascular disorders, particularly fibromuscular dysplasia, arterial dissection and Buerger’s disease. He is a fellow of the Society for Vascular Medicine. He is also certified as an RPVI (registered physician in vascular interpretation) and conducts vascular ultrasounds at UVA’s noninvasive vascular laboratories.
Dr. Sharma was born in Mumbai and attended medical school in India. He moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan, for his residency training and internal medicine fellowship at Saint Joseph Mercy Hospital. He then completed a vascular medicine fellowship at Cleveland Clinic. He joined UVA as an assistant professor of medicine in 2012 and is currently the associate professor of medicine.
